Our framing services
Bespoke
framing forms a large part of our business. With about 150 mouldings in stock
and several hundred available to order, we can accommodate most tastes and
styles.
We have two workshops, one at 204 Whitchurch Road and one in St. Mellons, although the one in St. Mellons is not open to the public. The framing is overseen by David Gregson who is a Guild Commended Framer.
Most of our mountboard is of conservation or preservation quality, with either all components or backing and core meeting Fine Art Trade Guild conservation standards, supplied by either Daler-Rowney or Slater Harrison, we also have limited stocks of museum board.
We also stock five different types of glass, standard, UV filtering, standard non-reflective, waterwhite with reflection control and waterwhite with reflection control and UV filtering.
We have been in business for 20 years and during this time we have framed various items some of which are listed below and are available to view on the examples page.
Apart from original pictures and prints we are experienced in framing needleworks, photos, posters, football and rugby shirts along with the more unusual books, jackets, caps, masks, medals, coins, miniature swords, rugs, wedding cake decorations, flowers, baby clothes and stone tablets, African pipes and spears.
The framing of needleworks is one of Gift Horse's specialties.
